Q. Are children allowed on opening day?

A. Yes, although it is very crowded, and the lines to checkout can be very long. We have a special time if you need to bring your children with you to shop.

Q. Are the sales located indoors?

A. Yes. Sales are located in air-conditioned/heated buildings.

Q. Are there any parking fees or entrance fees?

A. At this time there are No parking or entrance fees.

Consignor Questions

Q. Who can consign their items and become a seller?

A. Anyone can consign their children's and maternity items with Just Between Friends.

Q. Do consignors get to shop before the public?

A. Yes, consignors will shop early on a designated pre-sale day . You are given a consignor presale pass and two guest passes at check-in or by email. You must have a presale pass to enter the pre-sale.

Q. Are children allowed at the presale?

A. Yes, although we strongly recommend that you find a babysitter. It will be very crowded, therefore children must stay with the parent at all times. We have a special time allotted for you to shop with your children, please check your pass for details.  Children are NOT allowed to run around or handle merchandise.  Close supervision is required at all times. Nursing infants are always allowed.

Q. What percentage of the sales do I receive?

A. Consignors receive 65% of their sales less a $10 consignor fee (deducted from your check). Want to earn 70%? All you need to do is complete one 3hour volunteer shift during the sale or participate in one of our barters prior to the sale. We do have some special incentives and ways to earn 80%. Check out our "sales incentives" page.

Q. Who does the pricing?

A. You set your own price and you get to decide if it is discounted on our half-price day. Check out our "Merchandise Prep" page for pricing guidelines.

Q. What percentage of my items can I expect to sell?

A. Most sellers sell approximately 80% of their clothing items in sizes 2-10. For sizes under 24 months the percentage drops due to the sheer volume of merchandise received. People also tend to receive infant clothing as gifts, hand me downs etc. The older sizes (12-16 and up) seems to be on the rise.  We are always in need of more pre-teen / teen items.

Q. How do I sign up to consign?

A. Just click on our "Online Signup" button and fill out the form. You will recieve an email confirmation within moments.  Be sure to provide your email address.

Q. How long should I schedule for drop off?

A. We have self check-in and it typically takes about 45-60 minutes to drop off your items. Your items will be inspected and then you help place them in the designated areas around the sales floor. It is helpful to bring a wagon to drop off your items.Dropping off at the last minute will lead to long lines and longer waiting. Check the Drop-Off /Pick-Up link for scheduling.

Q. When and where do I drop off my items?

A. Drop off on Thursday Sept. 10th is for consignors that have 200+ items and is by appointment only. Contact Kim for an appointment.

General Consignor Drop off is Friday, Sept. 11th from 10am-7pm

Q. When do I pick up my unsold items?

A. Unsold items are to be picked up after the sale has ended and all remaining items have been sorted. You are allowed to pick up your unsold items on Sunday, Spet. 20th from 1:00-2:00pm.  All items not picked up by 2:01 PM will automatically be donated to Visalia YMCA.

Q. Do I have to sort through the racks to find my unsold items?

A. No, when you pick up your unsold items, your hanging garments will already be sorted by Consignor # for easy pickup. As time and volunteer sign-ups allow, we hope to have all of the other items sorted, too.

Q. How long does it take to receive my check?

A. Your check will be mailed to you approximately fourteen days after the end of the sale.

Q. Will I know what items have sold?

Our online barcoding system www.myjbftags.com will have all the information you need. Items that have sold will be uploaded each night. Realize that sometimes the sale runs really late and tags may not be uploaded until the next day. You can check the communication box at the top of www.myjbftags.com.

Q. Where do I find safety pins and child sized hangers?

A. Most dry cleaners will give you a modest amount of adult hangers and safety pins for free. If you need a lot, ask if you can buy them. Most of the time dry cleaners will sell you these supplies at a reduced amount (cheaper than discount stores). The other place to try is your local $1.00 store. Sometimes you can find 200 safety pins for $1.00.  Walmart  carries the wire coated childrens hangers  SHOP EARLY or shop online for these child sized hangers.

Q. I have looked everywhere and can't find child-sized hanger...what do you want me to do?

A. Typically, the stores run out of the child sized hangers a couple of weeks before the sale starts. So, next time, stock up early. For now, use what you have.  Please still try to put clothing sized 4T and smaller on child sized hangers.  Everything larger can go on the larger hangers.

Q. If I consign my items, do I have to stay during the sale?

A. No. Consignors drop off their items and put them out on the selling floor during the designated drop-off times.  Consignors also come back on the pick up day to help sort and pick up their unsold items.   Volunteers are always needed, and very appreciated. Sorting will take place the evening before.

Q. What items are you taking?

A. We accept anything related to babies, children or maternity. The clothing must be current season. For our Fall/Winter sale, we will be accepting only cold weather clothing.  Save your Spring weather items for our Spring Sale in March  2010. Other great items are toys, books, videos, strollers, baby equipment, nursery items, large play equipment, bedding, cribs, changing tables, household furniture, etc.  Please be sure that your items are in great shape.  Each item will be inspected prior to entrance.

Q.  Even though this is the Fall / Winter Sale, can I bring short-sleeved shirts and shorts?

A. We would like for you to save your summer clothing for the next summer sale.  Fall still provides some warm weather, so short sleeved shirts are still accepted, as long as they are Fall colored. Jeans and khaki/docker-like pants are always accepted.  If you are unsure, please call or email.

A. Shoes are allowed, but please bring only your best shoes.  I am VERY particular!!!  These items are easily worn out and will not sell if they are worn.  The best sellers are dress shoes, new shoes, and shoes that complete an outfit.
